(Grade 6)
Get ready to jump-start your electricity lessons!
- Teachers attend a short, hands-on, circuit-focused workshop, afterschool, in their school district and receive all of the learning materials
- Cross-curricular content includes electricity, conservation and sustainability and electrical safety
- Curriculum connections meet the prescribed learning outcomes of the Grade 6 Electricity Unit, as well as Health and Career Education, Social Studies and Language Arts curricula
- Teachers receive a complete set of teaching materials to guide them through the campaign process, including resource binder, classroom poster, and DVD
- Registration, workshop, and materials are all free

FirstWave is fun - students collect water drops for taking positive action and can earn Badges and Accomplishments as rewards. Program Resources
Teachers receive classroom materials that include:
- Complete teacher resource binder, including teacher background information, colour overheads and display cards
- Twelve Monday-morning-ready lessons focus on engaging, hands-on, exploratory learning principles
- A class set of student workbooks, full colour handouts and take-home activities that support and reinforce the electrical safety messages presented
- A colourful classroom poster representing B.C. geography and water resources, depicting electrical safety hazards for students to identify
- A DVD to supplement in-class learning
- One complete electricity kit is provided to each participating school, and contains materials needed for the hands-on learning activities
